I'm not a fan of fanvids in general but Bon Cop, Bad Cop was a fun movie, at least for the first 80%, and especially for a Canadian movie in general, so I was curious what you would pick to include in a vid for the old classic song. So many great scenes emphasizing the dichotomy between English and French Canada ... and the ending with Colm F and Patrick H (suffering from the effects of passive exposure to marijuana smoke) laughing their butts off left me with a smile on my face.
Yeah, it was a strange movie altogether, but I remember the culture clash aspects much better than the weird murder mystery plot, and of course that's what appealed to me. Glad it entertained you! The look on their faces is wonderful, isn't it!
The movie was a bit of a gimmick with its half English/half French dialogue and subtitles but as a Canadian who tries to see Canadian movies whenever possible (at least if they SOUND interesting) and a Colm Feore fan, I felt I needed to support it by seeing it in the theatre. Which I do very rarely these days.
Are you familiar with other Patrick Huard (or Colm Feore) movies? I saw Starbuck a while back and wondered if anyone else had. :)
No, but maybe I should be! I knew Colm Feore from his marvelous role in Slings & Arrows; I didn't know Patrick Huard but I thought he was wonderful (and sexy!) here.
When I was a serious CKR fan (and it's sort of sad how that slipped away) I watched a ridiculous number of Canadian movies. Now we mostly netflix old BBC costume dramas. Do you recommend Starbuck?
