Over the last several nights B and I watched Longitude, the A&E Television movie based on Dava Sobel's book about the 18th c. carpenter John Harrison, who essentially invented the marine chronometer in his pursuit of the prize for finding a method of determining longitude at sea. I boggled at Lydia when I first saw P&P because I knew her from Absolutely Fabulous as the diametric opposite of Lydia. Because there ARE only 12 actors in Britain. Well, maybe 24.

I think what is so funny about A&E6D is that unlike C6D the whole costume drama thing sort of seems like lots of windows into one single universe. So seeing actors in wildly divergent roles is more brain-busting than, say, Leoben and Kowalski.
