sga, heroes

It's always been hard for me to feel as fannish about the shows I'm watching as everyone else because I don't watch them real-time - we don't have television reception, so I always watch downloaded versions at least a day late. And this season we are saving up episodes and watching them two at a time, so I'm even more belated than everyone else, ( Read more... )

ETA: I meant to say this earlier: SGA people, you have got to read the [info]strangefandom post on SGA - five people who know nothing about SGA (other than that Ronon is not a barista) tell us what they think it's about, based on three vids. It's a total hoot.

I think I broke something laughing. God, those are hysterically funny - and oddly almost accurate - interpretations of SGA, aren't they?

And that's partly your fault, missy! :-)

I think my favorite bit was the one about the Wraith being a cross between Galadriel and Voldemort.

I am so tempted to post about Sylar; normally when a character's popular and I don't like the character, I can at least see why others would. But I try and try and never see anything remotely appealing about him.

So I, too, wish he'd died in the finale.

My dislike for him in S2 is not based on dislike of him (although I agree, I totally don't get why he's got such a big fannish base) - it's dislike for the role he's playing, in a meta sense. It's retreading old ground to bring him back as the villain, and it cheapens the finale of S1 to have their heroics go for naught.

Oh, I saw that canon ground squid (or, as Beckett would call it, a "space squid"), and thought of you instantly! I knew you'd like it...

S2, for me, has Issues with the big capital I. I wish I had hope that they'd salvage it properly in the next two episodes. :-/ Sigh.

And, OMG, Matt/Mohinder! So very, very married. ♥

It's funny - S1 Hiro/Ando were also so very, very, married, but I had no interest in reading that (and obviously it didn't ping the majority of writers, either). And I am so not a kidfic person! But for some reason, Matt/Mohinder works for me, and if I ever do end up writing in this fandom that would be where I'd start, most likely.

(And I'm still at least one if not two eps behind...)
