Okay, I have a temporary fix now - I'm using B's laptop, which of course is configured entirely differently from mine, and doesn't have half of what I want or need. ( Grr. )
It's very discombobulating when you shift computers. It's like when you go somewhere and suddenly you can't speak the language, which is cool until you're in the supermarket trying to work out if the bottle with pictures of lemons on it is softdrink or dishwashing detergent...
Hee, that reminds me of using internet cafes in Venezuela and Colombia. The keyboards were all different and trying to get them to work in English was quite a task...
Yes! Trying to find the @ key in Argentina was ridiculously hard. I mean, they have email there too, so presumably it's on the keyboard somewhere, right? And yet I could not find it. *fails at Argentinian keyboards*
But but, the post without any spaces was hilarious! (I know it wasn't supposed to be funny, but can't help the giggle fit). Last time I was without my own computer I was a lot more annoyed about it than I had any right to be (addicted, much?), so I hope you get everything fixed the way you like it soon.
Also... *raises glass* Hi, I've been drinking heavily too, as I've been on leave for the past week, and still have 3 weeks to go!
Oh, GOD, I am SOOOOOO addicted. It's not funny. Right now our DSL is out so I'm down at a brewpub (that has wireless), drinking (of course) and finally getting to lj and my email!

And our autumn leaves are mostly fallen. I have been raking them up all day! It's been gorgeously warm and sunny, though, kind of deceptively so.

At least you're being responsible :)

And actually, right now I am down at Carver's drinking a Black Cherry Ale, because our DSL is out and they have wireless.

Oh that sounds so good. Any chance you might share the recipe sometime? :)

It's pretty good, not as awesome as I had hoped, but definitely yum.
