I've been thinking about feedback lately - what I get, what I give. It occurs to me that the advent of lj and the trend toward commenting as feedback, rather than emailed LOCs (which of course is not new - things have been this way for a while) is a double-edged sword, in that although the ease of posting a comment has generally led to more ( Read more... )

I did this a few years ago, when I was only reading HP. It was fun for me, and most people seemed to appreciate my comments.

I was one of the people for whom you did this a couple of years ago and I found it immensely helpful. I think it helped my writing and I know it helped my own process of betaing for other people. I have found concrit to be extremely rare and I genuinely wish I got more of it. I just wanted to say thanks again.

Oh, you are too cool for words. I'd love it if you felt like it. I have a couple SGA stories up, but the ones I'm not totally ashamed of are the following:

Sparring - Sheppard/Teyla, McKay/Sheppard. NC-17, kinda angsty. 2290 words. Um, and technically WIP, so totally understand if that's a turn-off.

Rude Man Made Me Do It - McKay/Sheppard, ~850 words, sort of a little nothing one-off. If you've an embarrassment squick you will not want to read it.

I don't completely hate "A Thousand Suns" (aftermath of "Trinity", R, Sheppard/McKay) but it's the sequel to "At Ease" (NC-17, Sheppard/McKay, Ronon/Caldwell) which I really do hate but have no idea how to fix (and part of me sort of feels like the horse has left the barn 'cause it's been posted). Maybe you should do that one for that very reason.

Ack!! Now I don't know. I'll leave it up to you, they're all up for grabs. Here's my author page on Wraithbait with the three longest stories I've got.

In all my see-sawing I forgot - public fb is totally cool but email is also acceptable, especially if you hate it want to get more detailed - I can be reached at rmckenzi@dti.net. And I'll add you to my whitelist so the aggressive spam filter doesn't catch you.

Wow, this is very kind of you, and I know I'm likely to be a little way down the list according to your priorities but I'd be crazy to pass this opportunity up.

I'm particularly trying to improve my long-story work, so Animal Husbandry would be choice number one for me and for your alternative choice, I'm not that bothered which because I'd be interested in anything constructive you have to say on anything I write so, I'll say Decussate but if you preferred to do something else please feel free.

I am always open to constructive crit in public, but my email address is on the bottom of both stories. Thank you.
