My grandmother is doing worse than they'd thought and will need longer rehab than the hospital can provide, so they are sending her to a nursing home. This has the whole family freaking out because no one wants her in a nursing home (her least of all). Thank you. She's a strong, independent woman - raised three kids on her own in the 50s and 60s after her jerk of a husband (a minister) ran off with her best friend (the church organist). She greatly values her independence. This will be a huge blow to her. She and I have certainly had rough patches in our relationship, but we're pretty good these days and even if we weren't, it would be hard to see her go through this.

Probably next week. I've finished about 2k of what will likely be a 6-8k chapter but I have to finish cleaning out my old apartment, get the kids ready for preschool (including class picnic this week) and it's my wedding anniversary Friday... plus my grandmother just had a major accident, her house is currently being hit by the hurricane and my brother had a horrible break-up all of which has resulted in Great Family Drama. I realize this is more information than you want, but... well, the delay sucks but it's justified (and at least you know it'll be a long chapter!). Sorry. It's coming, though, I promise.
