In a totally awesome moment that exemplifies why I should not ever, EVER do anything that requires anything like coordination, I give you tonight's dinner -

So I'm carrying two plates of spaghetti to the table, yes? Midway there, someone says something to me. I stop. The spaghetti, however, does not. My mom stared for a second at the new spaghetti- ( Read more... )

I heard tell of something that might help you out with this $27 problem of yours. They're called libraries. They're new, so I can understand if you're not yet familiar with the concept.

My library has a wait list of 39 people for the book... and I have zero patience.

I call bullshit. You really checked the library? Really?

Yup. That's the entire county's wait list, btw, not just my damn little local library.

Also, I have become an insomniac. I am not amused.

YAY! Another Moore fan. Can't wait to hear about the signing and such. Going to see him end of the month. :D

My friend Tim, who is NOT a fan of Shakespeare, loved Fool, so I think you're safe. Plus, if you liked Biff it's kind of a given, I'd think.

If you don't like it, there's always reselling it on Amazon or craigslist. If it's signed, you could do well on the deal.

I thought I'd like all of his stuff, but then I started reading The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror and was thoroughly unimpressed. I haven't finished it yet, but... it's just okay, whereas Biff was phenomenal. I suppose I was expecting more? IDK.

The idea of buying it, reading it, getting it signed and reselling it as an autographed copy is a pretty good one. Will see what the hubby thinks of that idea. (Of course, I'll probably love it and refuse to part with it).

Well, then, if you spend the money and love it there's not a problem, right?

And generally I stay away from holiday-themed fiction because for some reason it just annoys me. Except for Pratchett's Hogfather because he's just cool like that. :)
