I know giantlaser was just talking about this but he's way more savvy than I am so.... My parents want a video chat thang for their grandchildren (my nieces) in San Diego. My sister has Mac notebook, they have an older Dell. Any issues with mac vs pc? Is Skype a pain in the ass? I've heard good things but don't know much about it. Keep in mind my parents are

Skype is probably the least pain in the ass in general and also works nicely cross-platform. The only problem they may encounter is with the older dell, video chat hogs a TON of resources, so it may be a choppy headache for them.
Most good webcams have a software setting that will adjust the video size and frame rate to match the system profile.

Skype has been good to me for years and years. Now that I have my macbook, I can see that iChat has slightly better video, but otherwise it's pretty kick-ass.
