For all the talk about daddy issues in Lost, Kate doesn't get enough credit/material about her mommy issues. No wonder she has such problems with stability or settling down considering that her own mother, the one person in the world that's supposed to put your well being above all other things, chose a man over her.

I love it when you make me want to write Kate :)

Kate's issues with her mother, I'll freely admit, fascinate me. I find it so tragic that, as you say, the one person who was supposed to love her more than anything else chose not only a man, but a man that abused her, over her own child.

Her mother is the source of a lot of her issues and I think the reason she's so messed up about men is that she's petrified on making the wrong decision and ending up with the wrong man, like her mother.

For all that Kate can bug me, there's a lot of stuff about her character to explore and dig into. I'm glad you liked this, hun, and it's a wonderful compliment to me that it inspired you. :)
