I think that if Sawyer likes a person, it makes them harder to communicate with them, to be honest. Lying to people he doesn't respect is (understandably) easy. Apologizing to Sun involves a lot more in Sawyer's mind that just an apology so I think that he needs time to confront what he did and sort through it before he does.

Sun believes Sawyer. I think that she can tell that he's not putting her on, and that's why she can give him time. But, like she said, she isn't going to wait forever.

You wrote it! That's so great. Thank you. I did want to see this encounter ficced, and I particularly thought you should write it, because I knew you'd get Sun right, and you did. I really see and hear her so clearly and I love her interaction with Sawyer. It's obvious that he respects her and that, even though she is deeply disappointed in him, she respects him as well - and that's something that Sawyer would always respond to, being respected.

He sure as hell hopes it doesn't take forever for him to grow a pair, but knowing himself the way he does, it just might.

I love that line. It's so very Sawyer.

I really enjoyed this fic and am looking forward to the next part.

p.s. I'm sorry I've missed a number of your fics. I'm afraid I haven't been reading much Lost fic lately. I'm glad I read this one though!

I've been trying to get this one going for quite a while now, and knowing that you were interested really helped motivate me to give it another go. I'm glad that you thought Sun's voice was right, that her reactions were realistic, because that's always gratifying to hear.
