Tim knew what he was about to do was questionable ethically; a lot of people could get hurt if this backfired. He cared about them, he really did. He didn't want them to get hurt for their own sakes, not just abstract thinking of the nightmare he'd have in saving them. The point was, he honestly believed this would work. Well, at least he wanted to believe it would all be okay.
He owed it to Bruce. No matter that Jason had once slit his throat. No matter that he'd broken the cardinal rule of the Bats and killed. Jason had once inspired Tim and he'd meant the world to Bruce. Tim had to have faith Jason could be a hero again. He had to, so he did. Tim ran the transporter codes again in his mind as he entered Blackgate Prison to speak to "John Doe". This time, everything would turn out all right.

It was surprisingly hard to come up with secret crushes because Dick wears his heart on his sleeve.1. Dick loves history and after living in Gotham and being a superhero most of his life, he has a special spot in his heart for Gotham's superhero history. Ted Grant had helped train Batman, after all. If only his crush were on Wildcat, maybe he wouldn't feel the need to hide it. But no... it has to be the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott. Wally knew the man much better - had even been camping with him - and would laugh himself silly if he knew. But, Dick just saw discipline and will improbably combined with theatricality and imagination, with a good dose of ethics and civic duty thrown in for good measure. Listening to old Gotham Broadcasting radio serials with Alan playing the Green Lantern was an especially guilty pleasure. That rich deep voice and the ridiculous, yet heroic predicaments he'd find himself in around an old Gotham Dick could see glimpses of in now dilapidated buildings. He wasn't sure who to be more embarrassed for,

2. She was intelligent, graceful, powerful and (com)passionate. She had red hair. Dammit, if she didn't look fabulous in a tuxedo. He tried really hard not to, but sometimes he thought Kate Kane would be an exciting challenge. Then he'd put his head in his hands for being stupid and take a long, cold shower.
Bruce Wayne, hisilwethDecember 7 2009, 02:55:52 UTC
Bruce doesn't even remember it anymore. If he does, it's disjointed images, smells or sounds he wouldn't be sure belonged to the same memory at all, except he's got the ticket to prove it happened. The security of his mother holding his hand to cross the street. The smell of fresh popcorn or maybe it was stale. The sugary pink cotton candy sticking to his teeth. The lumbering sway, way up high on an elephant's back and the itchy rug beneath him. Bright, glittery costumes shining in the spotlight. Gasps from the crowd and his own laugh mingled with theirs. Even after all these years, the circus still managed to retain a bit of the awe and sentimental magic he'd felt for it as a child.

Ooh, a hard one. I haven't liked Steph at all until Batgirl.
1. She never bought into Edward Nigma's supposed change for the better. That bastard had ruined her dad. Without his influence, he may have been a criminal, but he'd never have aspired to be a super-villain. So while Gotham fawned over Nigma's high-profile PI activities and swooned over his public relations and proclaimed him 'reformed', Steph seethed and wrote scathing letters to the editor of the Gotham Gazette2. Tim Drake-Wayne was not the same person as her Tim Drake had been. He wasn't as hopeful and he didn't quite believe in things the way he used to do. He'd retreated even more into his shell and pushed her away at every opportunity. She missed the old Tim, but she didn't want him back romantically; She just wanted the new Tim well again

It is a surprise, but a really cool one! Who drew your adorable Rogue and Kurt chibis?
When Jean married Scott Summers, she knew he came with guilt over leaving Maddie and sending his baby boy off to an unknown future. She didn't know she'd lose her honeymoon only to find herself in that future, helping raise the boy herself.
Being a step-mom is hard. Being a step-mom to a special needs child in on the run from the authorities in a harsh future even harder. Jean never thinks of it as hard and she never thinks of Nathan as anything but her own child. She never resents him, but loves him entirely.
