The following rambling was written late last night in my notebook/journal. I have adapted and expanded it for LJ. It's not very long, but I figure I should post something here ( Read more... )

I suppose the "real bed" thing might arise from the fact that college dorm mattresses are notoriously uncomfortable? I don't notice this much myself, since I have a mattress pad and uncomfortableness is therefore a non-issue. That said, I do prefer my bed at home to my bed at school because my home-bed is a lot bigger than my school-bed. I like having room to stretch out. I also like being able to flop back on my bed when I'm exhausted, something I can't do at school because I have to have the bed up high in order to fit my crap under it.

So that's me rambling about beds. << It's nice to see you blogging again! *hugs!*

I've had dorm beds that have been more comfortable and others that have been less comfortable than my home bed, so, that's not always true in my case. The size thing is a good point, but while my home bed is full size and therefore wider, the college twin size is extra long, so my feet don't bump into the end all the time like my home bed. I also like to flop back on my bed when I'm tired (and also to use my laptop, because chairs are uncomfortable), and I purposefully do not set my bed up high for this reason, at the expense of fitting junk under it.

This conversation feels very odd for some reason, debating about beds. But thanks for the hugs!
