*Sobs* Poor Rose. But you know she'd want to protect Kaylee.

But I want to give her a hug. And River, oh, poor things.

Yeah, her life sort of sucked when Torchwood went bad. It's a fantastic organization most of the time--but it's only as good as its weakest member and when it goes bad it goes BAD.

It's strange for River, I think, to be with someone who has a little bit of telepathy. There's a reason she gravitates towards Rose--Rose has also seen the monsters.

But things get better! :D

I completely agree, could easily see Rose and River connecting over the monsters they've seen. Why is it always governments?????

Yes, better is good!!

D: Poor River, and oh Rose, you are so broken. It's like for every secret you reveal about her past, it just keeps getting darker. I know she'll come out alright, if not completly healed, but right now I just.... *cries*

This story is probably the darkest one I'm going to write. I know it's super angsty but I think it'll give some good insights into why Rose reacts the way she does to certain stimuli in the later stories. Don't worry, it get's better! She and River sort of help each other.

She's been drifting for so long and hiding for so long that she's really lost touch with other people. Traveling with River forces her to come back out into the open and connect with others again.
