He managed to fit so much meaning into two words.
One thing I love about the Doctor- words are his weapon. I just love all the intensity and joy and disdain and heartbreak that the different incarnations can put into a few words. And the speeches? Nothing short of magnificent.
He could sense tension in her, but not the cause.

This is absolutely the Doctor. You have captured him perfectly in this moment.
"Rose Tyler," he said quietly and something inside her clenched. He sounded just like the Doctor-had the same inflection, the exact same way of rolling her name in his mouth. He managed to fit so much meaning into two words. It shouldn't be possible but it was. She held her breath in anticipation of what would follow. "Any chance I could get some tea? Fancy a cuppa."
So Misters Baines and Hutchinson the losers who messed with Rose in the Bad Wolf. Oh well, guess you just made First Contact Baines. Time to get behind the sofa and hold onto something because it is going to be a bumpy ride!
Thanks for another great chapter!

First Contact Baines indeed! I like that phrase. :D Yup, I wanted to tie him and Hutchinson in. Jenny was also mentioned briefly, but Mr. Cartwright and Lucy haven't appeared yet. Don't worry, they will. :D

If you haven't checked out "In Human Hands" (it's linked on my page of Fics To Read!) I highly suggest it. Rallalon writes brilliantly, and although I'm not sure if she's going to finish it, what's posted is absolutely gorgeous.
