*blushes* Todd's schisms were the hardest to delineate. Yay! I'm so glad Kyle's voice didn't get lost in this.

loose-around-the-edges thing that is Todd and Jenny...
lol - you know, I get that from Todd's PoV, but Jennie's baffles me.

Thank you!

*nods* Yes, totally. One of the reasons I've not really written her yet - just mentioned. I've liked her in everything I've read her in - she seems so balanced between compassion and interest in others and focusing on her own goals. Also, she's got a great sense of fun and Alan's will (which can definitely be a flaw - stubborn, stubborn). Sometimes, her interest in acting was written as though she was just seeking attention rather than a genuine interest in dramatic form, but even then it doesn't really cross over into how she treats others. *scratches head*

I am way too out of it to comment properly on this story, but I really liked it. Apparently I am all about Todd/Jen's boyfriends, even though it is NOT VERY HEALTHY, TODD RICE.

Thank you. Kyle's not quite Hank, but I get what you're saying. *g*
I'm glad he's healthier now - or at least, appears to have healthier relationships.

Thank you! I'm really glad you want to hug them (That's what I was going for :) and that it makes characterization sense for the setting.

The shifts in Todd's mind were really well written, too.
Thank you! It was a fun challenge to figure out how to construct those.

Love, love, love. I've never liked Jade, but Todd is an entirely different matter. His fragile sense of self is well-depicted here, and reading Todd's thoughts is like stepping into his shoes and being bombarded by the shadowlands. Kudos too, for the use of the internal third voice, which could have been a burden to the prose in the hands of a less experienced writer. And lastly, I love the brief hope of a Kyle/Todd relationship and the way it self-destructed. At the end, I could only slap the edge of the table and groan, 'Kyle, you idiot!' Well done!

*blushes* Your comment makes me so happy, I've had it open for three days while I tried to figure out how to reply to it without flailing.

Todd is a favorite of mine - so much so that I can be especially irrational where he's concerned.

That internal third voice wouldn't be there without my beta, who told me she wanted to "hear" those voices in Todd's head. In fact, she helped this fic immensely.

Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate it.
