Nice that he enjoys my art, but the "manga/anime" thing is hitting me hard. No matter how much I fucking try my art will always just be bloody anime/manga. I fucking hate it, hate it oh so much. FUCKING HATE HATE RAGE ETCKJDSF,AGLL I need sleep.

"Kinda like manga/anime but more...western..." roughly translates to "I don't know much about art so I'mma gonna make something up".

The only part that really comes across as 'japanesey' in your art would just be the face/head shapes. It's merely because japanese comic art is very sharp and pointy, lots of angles and a few chins that might as well be corners. Your style comes across as a lot softer and more rounded all up (if that makes sense), and over time you'll probably change how you draw faces anyway. Don't sweat the details, what's important is that he liked it.

I do think I need to work on drawing faces better. The facial anatomy is just unrealistic but I just have no idea how to make it better, I can sit and study a face for hours on end but still find drawing it comes out wrong.

I'm not really angry or anything, just makes me cringe a bit since I get that kind of comment way too often, Both online and IRL. ;___;
