just curious...
If your "best friend's" surprise birthday party was the day before father's day would you:
1. Visit with you FIL because he is old and not well and may only have a few more father's days to go
or
2. Head on out to your friend's party because, hey, she's 40 Woo Hoo! And this is the only surprise party she will likely have

My "best friend" chose #1.
And for the past two years she has chosen not to invite me to her children's birthday parties since they are "only for family," yet she has always said that as an only child that her friends are her family. Oh, and "god parents" are invited. As an atheist, I guess that excludes me.
There is more, of course. And I think I'm done with her. It just hurts me tremendously that again & again this woman who claims to be my best friend ALWAYS chooses something else above spending time with me.
Fuck me for choosing a mundane as a "best friend."
