Gathering her dress, her bag, coat and necklace she moved upstairs (without a piggy back ride) and deposited her gifts in their bedroom. Stripping down naked, she put on the necklace that he bought her, just the diamonds against he pale skin, now golden and brown under the soft candle light everywhere ( Read more... )

Candlelight has a way of making everything visually dramatic. The light itself is like a living thing, the way it moves through out the room. Everything is saturated by warm amber tones, except the shadows, which somehow seem darker than they would otherwise.

The scars he's collected over his abnormally long life are highlighted by the light, along with the muscle he's gradually losing to age. Getting old is a bitter pill for a proud man to swallow and though he's able to put it from his mind most of the time, it's at the forefront of his thoughts every time he undresses.

Justin lowers himself carefully into the running water. His eyes close and he takes a moment just to breathe. Trying to clear his mind of the noise.

"You should have seen me in my twenties." He was still watching her hands, but his eyes didn't seem to be focused on anything in particular. "My body is still a temple, but it's a little worse for wear now."

"Didn't you tell me once that I wouldn't have liked you in your twenties?" Smiling gently she moved closer to him as she put her lips lightly against his. "Your body is amazing, every inch of it."

The kiss shook him out of his daze to a degree, from there, he made the effort to seem less morose.

"I didn't say you would have liked me better, only that you should have seen me then."

"I see you now and you take my breath away." Her fingers moved gently over the short hairs at the side of his head, stroking the soft strands. "You're amazing."

"I'm being foolish, aren't I?" A rhetorical question, because he knew the answer.

Now that they had been together for more than a year and she had put up with all of his idiosyncrasies, he was having an attack of self consciousness. It puzzled even him when he stopped to think about it.

"No," her first response. "Okay, well maybe a little, but its understandable." Jane does know the meaning of the word rhetorical but she doesn't care.

"Everyone takes a look at themselves and thinks, 'I was so and so ten years ago. I was stronger, I was skinnier, I didn't have those stretch marks.' It's natural, cowboy." Smiling she scoops up some bubbles and carefully sculpts them to the side of his face.

He manages to suppress the wince he feels coming on when he gets compared to everyone else. Still, the scars aren't going anywhere and it isn't as though he can ask her not to look at them.

The perks of being a warden are endless, he thinks, bitterly.

Justin leans toward her and rubs his bubble covered cheek against hers. "There, now we match."

Laughing she reaches up and pats the bubbles on her cheek with a grin. "How do I look? Because you look mighty sophisticated with your beard o' bubbles."

Scooping up a bit more she pats the other side of his cheek to complete the look.

"You look very distinguished with your half beard of bubbles, Ms. Jones."

The pointed, deadpan look he aimed at her looked quite ridiculous in tandem with bubbles on his face.

"Why thank you, Mr. DuMorne," she continues to stroke her "beard" elongating her jaw like a true blue blood.

"You look quite distinguished in yours I must say."

Justin cups some of the warm water into his hand and splashes it against his face, thereby removing his beard.

"I disagree. Anything beyond the five o'clock shadow doesn't suit me."

Getting rid of her own beard she frowns and moves closer toward him, kissing his lips lightly before pulling back.

"You do look handsomely rugged with that five o'clock shadow."

"You seem to think I look handsome no matter what."

With Jane being so light, it's very easy to turn her towards him and pull her back, gently, into his lap. He strokes her cheek softly with the back of his warm damp hand.

"I've got this weird sort of crush on you, can you tell?"

Wrapping her legs around his waist she ducks her head and lightly begins to nuzzle and kiss at his throat. She presses up against his chest, breast against him.

"Weird indeed." He responded, though the words sounded more like a purr from a jungle cat.

He pressed a kiss into her forehead and stroked his bulky fingers through her hair for a while, but he can only ignore the lustful kisses and the sensation of her legs wrapped around him like that for so long ...

When he's ready, he wraps his hands around her narrow waist and guides her over his erection. The grip she has on him isn't much of a surprise anymore, though it's still quite intense. He doesn't make a sound as her hips sink over his.
