This is lovely and melancholy and maybe a little hopeful at the end, despite everything. I love the Charlie Brown metaphors. Wilson is so, so Linus. <3

Thank you :) I missed the Charlie Brown Christmas special this past Christmas, which might be what put me in a sad enough mood to start this story. The thing I love about the Peanuts characters is that I see so many of them in the House characters. Wilson is so Linus, but then, he can be Charlie Brown to House's Lucy (and vice versa). He can be Lucy to House's Schroeder. Marci to his Peppermint Patty :D No, I know. It's all completely ridiculous, but fun to think about. I want someone to write a Halloween fic where House and Wilson go trick-or-treating and one of them says, "I got a rock." Happened to me ALL the TIME when I was a kid.

Oh yes. (Cameron is Sally and Kutner is Snoopy. <3) That Halloween fic sounds marvelous.
(I'm now picturing House playing the piano and Wilson slumped up against it.)

Wow. That's the most depressing fic I've read in a long time. Excellently written and stark, and I hope this isn't how Wilson treats House life but I'm very, very afraid it might be.

Thanks. You know, I have all the hope in the world that, in the end, House and Wilson will ultimately make each other more happy than miserable. But I have the feeling that it'll always be a close call, because they do tend to bring out the best and the worst of each other and these two have some dazzling bests and horrendous worsts.
