Perfect timing! I just received this 16" wide embroidered net vintage trim in the mail and I need to start work on my chemise tonight.

Pretty! They also basted the sleeve ruffles into the dress - that's what I did with mine. Sewed all the ruffles to a piece of twill tape so it's a finished item, and then basted into the dress - easy to remove for washing.

yeah - I was thinking of maybe basting the ruffles onto the chemise - then I could use them on various dresses as well.

If you baste to the chemise, then you have to get them through the sleeves. That could be a pain.

The fabric is gorgous!

thank you!! :D

yeah. I may leave the sleeves plain, but at least trim the neckline with the excess net. It's 16" wide, and 6 yards total, so I should have plenty for ruffles!

$4.99/yd???? I'm dying over here!!! That is sooooo super pretty & I'm totally seeing it as PERFECTION with your corset.

You *will* be salacious in this, mai oui? *wink wink*

oh yeah, oui!!!

I have to admit that I'm afraid of being *too* salacious! I might cheat and borrow from the 19th century - I bought some slightly thicker cotton for drawers. otherwise, I might be showing a bit too much in this thin voile!

Hee hee! It will be candlelit (tho' that reminds me to check how long my own chemise is; may have to wear drawers underneath m'self ;-)
