So next week will be the one year anniversary with Andres.  Is it too middle schoolish to celebrate?  I am worried about it because I don't know what to do/if I should buy him something.  He always seems to go either totally over the top with gifts.... but then again maybe this isn't a gift giving occasion?  I don't want to be trapped in the gift- ( Read more... )

I think 1 year anniversary is definitely worth celebrating. Maybe you should talk to andres and discuss if it's a present buying occasion. to me, it's like valentine's day- a day that you should spend together and maybe give like cards and inexpensive gifts to each other, but not really a present holiday.

Good suggestions. What did you and Mike do for yours? We discussed and agreed that it is not a present occasion, but I still want to do/make something small/possibly sappy. Got anything?

well, we went to maui. it was sort of, but not really, for our anniversary. I told him we had to go to a non-take out kind of place for our anniversary dinner. I gave him a card that said something nice. that's about it.

I'm not so good at the romantic thingy, so i don't have a ton of ideas for you. maybe you could like cook a nice dinner for him if you're into that kind of thing. or you could burn a CD and make a cover for it that has pictures of the two of you. hmmm... you have any other ideas? i need something for valentine's day.
