I 've showered.  I'm awake... and I'm heading to work for the first time in..... a month.  I feel as nervous as the first day of school... but worse.  What kind of shape will my classroom be in?  How much retraining am I going to have to do?  And worst of all... can I physically make it through the day?

Really well. I was (and still am) dead tired when I got home from work, but it was really nice to get back to real life and feel like a real person again. Me being back was huge news and like every kid that I have had in that building came in to hug me in the morning, which was probably terrible for my immune system. It was also cool because it was like Christmas because I got so much stuff- I got a pumpkin, a plant, many bouquets of flowers (a teacher was walking down the hall and goes "Does it smell like a funeral home to you out here?" and I had to explain my flowers), lots of little gifts, a welcome back cake and a gift card to Applebees... And then everyone was really nice offering to help me- come down and teach my class if I need a break etc., which you know I am way too stubborn for, but it's a cute thought.

So... I guess the moral of the story is that it is kind of exciting to be sick and take a month off from work because then everyone realizes how much they love you.
