Thanks for the wonderful comment/review you left. I friended you back, btw. ITA with the well-written fanfic, or actually, lackthereof. Sometimes it doesn't even feel like they write it on Word or any type of document manager. And sometimes I'm looking at an author's profile who wrote an amazing piece of work and looking at their favorite stories and they're crap. And I'm left thinking, "What the heck just happened here?" Haha, I bet if I looked through every piece of fandom on ff.net, I'd find 5-20 actually GOOD stories, if I'm lucky. Heh. What a world FF.net has come to be..

I really enjoyed reading your story. It was such a nice refreshing find among HSM fiction. I find that it's much harder with HSM to find well written works because the fan base seems to be much younger and therefore not as experienced. But perhaps this is only so for me because I'm used to reading Harry Potter fanfiction on other places rather than FF.net.

I haven't managed to find any true Kelsi/Jason - my searches seem to yield a ton of pairing I have no interest in reading (i.e. Sharpay/Ryan, Sharpay/Troy, and Troy/Ryan!). Lol. Any recommendations by the way? Essentially, I've only managed to find a handful that I can actually read all the way through. The first is the best.

"Trying to Matter" by: Dru619 (Gabriella/Troy)

"White Shadows" by: xochrissy (Zac/Vanessa, cute non-the-less)

Aw, thanks. And I agree; many of the HSM authors are VERY young and a little inexperienced. For every good fic, there's about 20 bad ones that go along with it. And it's always horrible when good plot ideas happen to those that are not-so-good authors. Sigh.

Harry Potter is a very well known and popular fandom, so it's found all over the place, and I tend to stray over to a LJ fic community or Portkey or something like it when I want to read a HP fic. FF.Net is always a last resort for me when it comes to HP. It goes the same when I want to read Veronica Mars fic - I tend to stray towards LJ fic communities instead of FF.Net. It's easier that way, and the likelihood of you finding a good fic are much higher.

Ah, fic rec. I can only name a handful, too. I tend to stray away from anything that has "Troyella" in the summary - I'm not usually one for combining names to form a ship name - but the first is an exception.

I happen to like Only Hope by jetsfanforlyfe. It's fairly well in-character, there's not many grammar mistakes.

Haha. Seems we're in the same boat. I prefer LJ, or sites like Portkey and contraveritas for my HP fics.

I haven't come across "Only Hope" -- Wow, this is exciting to have something new to read that I know isn't going to totally suck!

As for the other two links, I had read them before, but I think at that point there were only a few chapters each. I'll have to check them out again! Thanks.
