rh_intercomm answering the prompt "snow." Not that you care, but I am currently feeling the prince's pain.
"So! What do you want to do, now?" Isabella asked, trying to keep the conversation upbeat.
Prince John sighed, utterly bored. "I dunno. What do you want to do?"
Sheriff Vaizey was a little nervous. Bad things happened when Prince John was bored and they had all been stuck in Nottingham Castle now for a fortnight...and a day. Things were getting tense. Tentatively, he ventured a suggestion, "Would your highness be interested in game of chess?"
Prince John rolled his eyes. "Done that."
Isabella tried next, "How about Alquerques or Fox and Geese?
"No," the monarch replied testily. "We've done all those games three or four times!"
Vaizey literally pulled an ace from his sleeve, "Care for a card game?"
As Prince John's face turned increasingly sour, Isabella and the sheriff tried harder and harder to find something to pacify his princely pouting.
"Shovelboard?"
"Knucklebones?"
"Tables?"
"Shall I call for the fool?"
"Spin the bottle, Dungeon Rules?"
At the sheriff's last suggestion, Prince John showed a slight interest while Isabella looked like she wanted to throw up in her mouth.
Prince John sighed...again. "I think I'll just take a stroll through the castle. See if anyone has found something interesting to do." He gave them both a look that indicated that they should probably have something more entertaining than what was previously suggested in mind when he returned.
When he had left the Great Hall, both Isabella and the sheriff visibly relaxed.
"That was close," Isabella said, relieved. "I hate being snowed in with him."
"Well, that's something we have in common," the sheriff sneered. "We had better come up with an idea soon."
Isabella's face lit up. "We could always torture my brother!"
The sheriff smiled.
