Well, the contractors wrapped up Thursday evening and did a really nice job. They even regrouted the floor tiles and painted the walls for free (it wasn't on the contract). We had picked up the new showerhead and faucet at our own expense even though the purchase was covered on the contract. Maybe that was their way of paying us back. Either ( Read more... )

I'm glad the repairs went so well. That was nice of them to do the painting. I like painting but bathrooms are hard because they are small and the facilities usually get in the way. So go contractors!!!

I was at WalMart last night and found yet another reason (in my already long list) to hate them. Everything there is made in China! I found all these cute office supplies/ organizing things and everything I looked at... Made in China. It almost became a game to find something not made in china. I succeeded in finding some cool pens that at made in Japan. HA! Take that Capitalist Pigs! j/k

Have fun on the shopping trip and enjoy the anime!

We ended up going to this 'green' home do it yourself type place in Maryland and found some terrific paint that has no fumes. Looks really nice on the walls too.
Glad you found some cool pens. Isn't it nice to send the money to Japan instead?

I just finished watching a documentary on Wal-Mart (more ranting in my post) and how evil they are. It's not just China but Honduras and a few others. It made me very happy with my decision to boycott them.

What killed me was they showed this Wal-Mart add that was all pro-made in the USA and yet almost EVERYTHING in that store is made somewhere else to keep the prices down. They said the hourly wage is about .18 and Wal-mart imported something like 18 billion dollars worth of stuff in 2004. It was really disturbing to watch.

Awww fume-less paint is no fun... it's that contact high that half the adventure. j/k

Finding good contractors is a gift! I'm glad they did a good job. And you sound like you are feeling better?

As per usual, I feel a little better and then overdo it trying to catch up. I am thoroughly untrainable, but the house looks much better with a nice coat of paint in the downstairs.

Thought I would let you know that I have come back to LJ on a limited basis to keep up with any friends that got left behind when I moved my major camp grounds.

Oh, please do. It's nice to see you again.
I had such great hopes of keeping journals in other locations to keep up with folks that moved, but alas, I'm failing badly at keeping up here let alone anywhere else.
