Ice, Ice, Baby

It's a dreary, ice covered day in DC today and that means Izzy is stuck at home. I don't mind the odd snow/ice day, there've been two or three over the last two months, but unfortunately, I'd already missed a day in the office being sick this week and now I'm feeling claustrophobic here ( Read more... )

We're expecting a snow storm this weekend, which means being stuck inside all weekend long when we had hoped for a chance to drive up and visit my folks. Ah well. I hope next week's weather is more promising. I need to escape for at least one weekend.

Sounds like today is a good day for you to relax and do fun things for yourself. Have fun blasting the babbies! *snugs*

Man, the weather is just going nuts everywhere this week/weekend, isn't it?
Sorry to hear your trip got cancelled. I hope next weekend works out better for you and you can get out of town for a little while.
*hugs back*

Aw, sorry to hear you weren't feeling well earlier. And that you've cabin fever on such a dreary day (I for one have been quite happy to spend the day in bed - even if working - though I will prolly be desperate to get out a bit tomorrow). But great news about the writing!

Been fighting off the flu all week, but it's finally starting to leave, I think.
Never did get out and about, but we did get some things done around the house today and I'll be out tomorrow.

Ack! The flu? *pets* Poor thing. I'm glad you're starting to feel better, and hope the weather will cooperate from now on, too! Even if I do like the excuse to work from home....

We've had bitter cold, but plenty of sunshine. The longer days are already making me feel better. Hope you start mending soon. I have a sunlight lamp that I sit next to every day. It makes a big difference for me.

Ice is the worst, I'll take snow over ice any day.

I'm happy to hear that your writing is going so well! It's nice to have that feeling of accomplishment.

We got our new shipment of full spectrum bulbs on Thursday so hubs and I spent today replacing a bunch of lights in the house. What a difference those things make?! It really is amazing.
The ice didn't last as long or accumulate as thickly as they'd predicted, so we at least didn't lose power. The xbox stayed on and the tea was delicious.
Back to the office and the writing tomorrow.

Just a stupid flu, but I'm getting stronger every day. Definitely busting out of here tomorrow. It's acupuncture day and I'm gonna start Chapter nine for Achilles Heel.

Hope the cabin fever eased up yesterday, and all the ice is melting today.

Never did manage to escape the house, but the rest did me good and the xbox and cooking kept me distracted. I'll escape and get some fresh air Monday.
