The Banana Test

The test for when babies are ready for solid foods is supposed to be that they can sit up, reach out, take a piece of banana and put it into their mouths.  They usually reach this developmental stage by 6 months, which is now the recommended time to begin weaning ( Read more... )

Debs tried Sophia on banana first (on the dot of 6 months old, I think) and she wasn't impressed. She loved parsnips and sweet potato and other root veg, mashed up and fed on a spoon. Sounds like Abi's just not ready yet.

She's got the hang of covering herself in mush though. :)
