Life here in Luceti does not seem to be much different from that of Aselia. People lead similar lives here as they would there.

Even I, too, have not had much difficulty adjusting to life here. The only noticeable difference is a drop in my own powers...

[Richter's in the next room, trying to ignore the fact that Tenebrae is sitting on the other side of the door. Emil, why'd you have to leave him there while going shopping? Now Richter can't shake the paranoid feeling that the Centurion might come waltzing through the wall any second, to confront him with what's happened in the Ginnungagap. Tenebrae still doesn't know the full story, after all.]

[Now that Emil has left...]

Richter. What time period are you from?

[straight to the point, hm?]

Roughly six hours after Ratatosk fully awakened in the Ginnungagap.

I see. You're quite a bit ahead of me.

Then, I'm sure you won't mind informing of what your real motives are--rather, were--, will you?

It depends how much you already know about my motives.

I know that you desire to remove the seal on the doorway to Niflheim. I also know that you are doing so to bring Aster back.

However... Is that your only motive?

Yes. Those were the reasons for what I did. I'd planned certain safeguards, beforehand, but failed to bring them all into execution by the time I decided to unleash the seal.

Hmm... Allow me to put this another way, then.

What is it that you plan to do with the Chosen's Cruxis Crystal and the Sacred Stone? You wouldn't happen to be planning...?

What I was planning was to use the Chosen's crystal to grant myself immortality. Then, with the help of the Sacred Stone, I would've used my own body's Mana to ward the demons off. That way, I could keep them from entering the mortal realm and act as the portal's guardian for all eternity.

So... You planned on replacing Lord Ratatosk as the guardian to the demonic realm.

You would risk your own life to rid the world of Ratatosk? But wouldn't such a move also separate you from Aster, who you sought to revive?

That may be true, but it doesn't matter. Aster deserves to live either way, and there'd be no need for him to consort with a man who sold his soul to Niflheim.

Hah, fair enough.

But, of course... You realize that Lord Emil would never allow you to do such a foolhardy thing?

Yes. I've come to realize that, in the end.

Very well, then.

I've gotten the answer I seek.

Of course. Were you expecting me to be secretly plotting your demise, or some such nonsense?

Lord Emil truly does not wish to kill you. If he believes you are not a 'bad person', then I must learn why.
