You're right-- very hard to believe. But what about Uchiha Sasuke? He's lost in a forest somewhere and the Uchiha district is a ghost town.

Uchiha Sasuke has declared Konoha his enemies. His brother killed the entire clan and he went missing nin. He's been deaged so he does not remember this currently, but as soon as this wears off he will be back to normal.
