Whoa, nice! The emotion was just so deep it seemed to .. I don't know, but that was intense anyhow! And sometimes (like in this case) no fluff means more fluffy feeling. Yes, it's obviously also a tad sad, but the fluffy feeling is there along with the hope. And I love the idea that Erik is Charles' favorite book. :) Good stuff, keep it up!! :D

*dances with you*

Thank you so much. I actually thought, I had unlearned how to write fanfiction, but this fandom obviously works wonders. :)

My next one (provided there IS a next one) might be a bit fluffier, since I'm usually more on the fluffy side of fanfiction, but I couldn't have written that any other way.

I'm glad you liked it. :)

(And... Are that Caspian and Edmund in that icon?)

Yaye, you posted!!! :) Now I can leave you proper praise for the immediacy and poignancy in the fic & how well you captured their relationship in so few words. Look forward to more from you!!!

I am compelled to comment and gush, because the ending made me swoon unexpectedly. I also liked the rest of it; Erik's introspection is as fascinating to me as Charles reading things is to him. :D

That was exactly why I didn't use that "genre: post movie" tag thingy on either oldfriends or erik_charles. I didn't want to spoil the ending. Seems like it worked. *g*

Thank you so much. I always like to put a little "twist" at the end of my fics. I don't always succeed, mind you, but that doesn't keep me from trying. *laughs*

Your gushing is highly appreciated, dear, and, of course, very incouraging. Thank you. :)

*adds this to memories*
I really love this. Erik's intensity at watching Charles, the way it almost feels like a character study of Charles (but I know it's not), and how much Charles loves reading. It's all great.

"So into it" That word choice did bring me out of the story a bit though.

“I miss you, too, love" I'm not too keen on the "love" bit, but I realize it's necessary to make it very clear that his feelings are romantic. But I think that ending portion might work just as well without it, giving it an understated, quietness to their bond.

Anyways, though, this is a great read. :) <3

*is speechless*

I'm actually quite honoured by all those positive responses to my ficlet. I reckoned one, maybe two, three at best would comment at all. But you adding me to your memories is... well, I really don't know what to say. Thank you so much. :)

It did? Why?

Well, I see that the "love" bit might be too much for some readers, but... I don't know. When I wrote it, it totally seemed to me like something that Charles would say in that moment. Bear with me. I haven't written anything in a very long time. Maybe I'll learn. Then again, I've never been good at "understated quietness". ;)

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it, even if it wasn't flawless. :)

I think it's because I find "into it" a bit of modern slang? I can't quite put my finger to it. >.>

As for the "love" bit, it's really just a minor quibble. :)

And no, thank you for writing such a splendid fic. I do hope you write more for this fandom! :D

Well, as long as it doesn't irk you so much that you have to stop reading... I know, I've read some fics (not in the Erik/Charles fandom so far, which says a lot) I just couldn't finish reading, because they were so incredibly out of character because of the author's word choice. I'm really glad you could overlook it.

That's good to hear. :)

Hee! I hope so, too. That one was a kind of "feeling-my-way-back-into-writing" fic and I dearly hope, I can get back into the "I-just-HAVE-to-write-something-like-now" mood I was in before my 3-odd-years-writer's block hit.

Loved this so much. Brilliantly wordplay, but nothing too obvious. A very powerful, poignant, lightness of touch. You should definitely write more! (and porn - we always need talented writers writing porn!)

Thank you so much! I like myself a good wordplay, but I'm afraid I might be a bit rusty. I haven't written anything in a very long time. :)

Working on it! My beta and half my f-list are all for it, but the last time I have written porn was when I was still in the Banabloom fandom. *laughs* Let's just say, it's been a while. But I'm trying. Promise. :)
