If you do or ever have read comics (aka graphic novels) or even had an inkling to read them. I insist you must read The Book of Lost Souls. It's a 6 issue series that I am sad to say was stopped short but delivers a great story. It isn't a super hero story but is by far one of the best things comic-wise I have read.
