Those of you in the USA, I'd like to encourage you to express your support for a proposed update to the minimum wage and overtime rules which raises the exemption threshold. Industry groups are mobilizing to oppose this change, which would protect low-wage employees from being required to work unpaid overtime.

Sadly, I doubt even this will be sufficient. For me, the only solution is a complex one that first raises the percentage tax paid in the higher eschelons of income, then increases it every year income disparity fails to be corrected.

There's other stuff, too, but that's the jist. If the wealthy don't like it, they will simply ignore it, I know. But it's the only thing that might work. Otherwise, expect the prices to increase much faster than the bottom wages.

I don't expect a perfect solution, but I'd like at least the half-measures which are being proposed not to get scuttled.
