Well, there is now a new game in town. Mobiboros mentioned it just now in his livejournal, and it was one of the inspirations for my post. I'll admit I find it a little scary, especially because I suspect it will be quite popular.

I have no useful advice re looking for a relationship; they've always snuck up and ambushed me while I was doing activities I liked to do, which brought me into contact with people I liked and sometimes developed closer relations with. But I was never able to understand the point of "the singles scene" either.

Yeah, I'm kinda frightened by the sex MMORPG. In theory I like the idea of turning online dating services into an interactive visual environment. But the fact that you can own/decorate an apartment, and have people come over to have sex just seems gloriously silly. I think this puts religion to shame as the opiate of the masses.
