Blizzard today confirmed for GameSpot that LAN functionality will be absent from Starcraft II's multiplayer component, as both a piracy prevention mechanism and a quality-assurance initiative.

Yeah I heard about this too. Me and my brother were discussing it, I kind of think LANs are useless now that everyone has a router that people can just connect to. Blizzard made waves clearing the path with multiplayer with battle.net.

I kinda think it would be easier to create a game on battle.net, have people join than it is making sure everyone is on the same server/workgroup, applying the current update, and etc etc. Still though, my life for auir.

Yeah it sucks, but now it forces everyone to use the infinitely superior battle.net to play
