Clair visits him! Because that's the thing to do, really. She is at fault for his recent troubles, anyway. So she's checking on him. Knock knock!

"Won't people be looking for you?"

"I regularly disappear for stretches of time. But if I'm gone for more than a couple weeks, they might start looking. Sirius won't have anyone to cook for him." He smiled ruefully.

"How long have you been here?" Clair picked up a book from the pile he hadn't touched yet, and began to leaf through it.

"Only a week or so," he answered, replacing the spectacles and picking up the book again. "But I've only just started my research."

She sat on the floor by his chair with hers. "I'm sure you'll find something."

[ironicname]

"Such confidence and we've barely met," he said, smiling.

"Well, if you taught at Hogwarts... I find that a pretty reliable recommendation of confidence."
