Ergh... Future talk.

Nov 29, 2010 00:30

I got into an argument with Kaasan on Friday about the prospect of me going to college after high school again. She's insistent that I need to go. Even if I simply choose to stick with construction, she thinks I should get a degree and become a contractor. It'll pay more. I'll have a better chance of being able to take care of myself in these hard ( Read more... )

See if you can't get your boss to sponsor you or something to study construction at college. Or see if he'll be able to hook you up with an apprenticeship. Cause I really can't see you going through college.

And stop apologizing, would ya? It's fine. Just... wish you'd told me sooner.

(ooc: I don't know how much more that coffin of his can take. Seriously. I think... Tetsu's birthday is going to be the deciding factor. If Tetsu decides to spend his birthday with Kai over Sakurai, I think that'll be boiling point and spark the need for Sakurai to finally talk to Tetsu about it. >>; Which will probably involve a pissed of Sakurai that hasn't been seen in... a long time.)

I'll talk to him about it. Though not sure if he does things like that. The rest of the crew has been doing what they've been doing since my age also and none of them have college degrees. So the boss might just figure for me to simply keep doing what I do and the more years I do it, the more I'll eventually get paid. ...But the rest of the crew themselves don't exactly make any big money either, so I'm not sure if I want to just keep with that either.

...Fine. And I just ended up forgetting about it. ...Or rather, thought I had already told you.

[OOC: Since he's working on his birthday, he'll probably be spending it with neither. ...Unless Kai ends up showing up at his work place and/or asking Tetsu to take him there that day. And in that case, he might ask him to hang out with him after he gets off work, even though it'll be late in the evening when he does. Just because he wants to get the chance to be around him. >>;]

Well, it's worth a try at least. Or, in failing that, ask if he can give you full time for a year once you're out of school, if only for Nama-chan and being able to afford for her to go to Yamabuki. Then go to college the year after that if your mom's still insistent.

You were busy. No biggy.

(ooc: Sakurai will at least text him a happy birthday and give him the benefit of the doubt, but if he finds out Tetsu spent time with Kai... Sakurai will not be a happy chappy... >>;;)

Agreed with flower-boy. Working with an apprenticeship gives you references as well, which in the end will get you around with jobs until you have enough money if you actually ever want to take on a college. Work while you earn and you learn at the same time. It's convenient.

(ooc: Sorry >> Sushi's weird nicknames. Slightly insulting, not anything meant by them.)

...Flower-boy? Like I told Masaya, I'm planning to talk to my boss about it, but there's a big chance I won't be able to do anything like that with them. Because technically, I've been working an apprenticeship since birth, as my father works the same line of work. ...And while I might not be speaking to my father any longer, I was still able to get my current job because I already knew a lot of my coworkers from when I used to help my father when I was was younger and I already knew how to do a lot of the things they do.

[OOC: Tetsu doesn't consider it insulting. Seems like an expected nickname to call Sakurai. Though he does think it's a little random. But he thinks that about Atsushi to begin with. ^^;]

Huh... Well, if you have the people to reference you then it shouldn't be too hard. Even if you aren't speaking to him, his co-worker still make very nice references. Probably. That way, if you continue with carpentry which seems like something you really like, then you can use them to get a job. Get references from there, bada-bing-bada-boom you got stable references. Seems more like getting off the ground and finding that first job that isn't with your dad's influence.

(ooc: It's Sushi >>;; He's just weird)
