The house is quiet for the moment, all its typical occupants either out or attentioned elsewhere.

The phone rings, rings, rings, then goes silent.

About an hour passes, and then Pepper Potts walks in, door opening as per usual lately. "Jarvis, you are going to make me forget how to operate a door." It's fond. Really.

"Well, if you would really prefer, I could leave you to your own devices." He wouldn't, though. That wouldn't be nice.
(At this point, she can probably hear the smirk.)

"You won't, though." She's grinning. "Quit being a brat at me, you. Anyway, where's Tony? He needs to sign some things and tell me when he set up those interviews."

[runsthehouse]

"...Actually, there's been a bit of a problem. Mr. Stark misjudged his landing earlier this afternoon. He's perfectly all right, but the suit's suffered a malfunction. Why he felt the need to land in a river, I couldn't tell you."

"What! Oh for the love of God." Pepper drops her papers on the table. "I guess it's good that he modified the extra suit for Colonel Rhodes. Do I need to phone him?"
