Creature Comforts and Comfortable Creatures

Tak wasn't wearing her armor. She wasn't even wearing her vacsuit. In the comfortable surroundings of Mewtwo's Place, she'd decided to try out some of the items she'd bought from Ck'Taa's. The elaborate metal shoulder-piece seemed to fit well enough around her neck, but she seemed to swim in the flowy fabric draping from it ( Read more... )

He was actually on his way to the very same place, looking for something to eat. He had headed here straight from the stacks, only intending to make this a quick food-stop. No longer prone to become lost in thought, he notices Tak as soon as she comes into view.

"Hello, Tak. Have you found anything new regarding Khonshu or the other issues at hand?"

It was a change to see him alert and not sleep- or thought-addled. Not necessarily a bad change, however. The immediate response from him earns a brief, honest smile from her.

"I, eh... no, but I'm working on re-borrowing my ship to be able to use it. I still hold, that this thing is biological and probably kill-able. We just haven't found the thing that kills it yet." Her antennae fall back. "Although... I DID mean to ask you something important about that..."

He tilts his head to the side. "What?"

"It seems as though something has been... overlooked here. We're trying as hard as we can to KILL the Khonshu because he poisoned us. But what if the Khonshu is the only thing that's the antidote?"

Unfortunately Tak was more the kind of creature that would have others cook for her and it showed. She managed in order, to create an aborted skillet of greasy gray noodly stuff, and a half-boiled mobile fern that still thrashed in the pot (which was now secured closed by spiked, segmented metal bands and rocking back and forth where it sat.) She'd decided to go with something a little simpler after that.

Sammiches.

"Engh, it may not be what I'd planned, but at least you won't have to worry about it eating YOU first." Tak's approximation of a human's sandwich isn't perfect, but perhaps pickled daikon goes well with ham. One could never tell. Hers, on the other hand, had been stuffed bits of every type of plant she could find in the refrigeration unit... save for the killer fern in the pot of course.

Mewtwo's chuckles of laughter are decently hidden, especially under the sounds of sizzling ...things. He isn't sure that he could do better, he never took the time to even learn the basics of cooking beyond 'summon food.'

He takes the sandwich, eyes it, and takes a tentative bite. He isn't big on the taste, but then again he isn't big on much of anything food-related. He does, however, take several more bites out of interest and gratitude. It was still better than a food ration.

The fern squeaked.

"Indeed. Thank you."

She'd also had the forethought to procure a glass of some odd juice that swirled alternating pink and yellow. Tak, once again, contented herself with a soda that she slurps noisily from. "You're welcome, Mewtwo. I'll see to the MESS after we're done here... But what WAS it that you wanted to talk about?"

He nods, taking a sip of the drink, holding it up to eye level, and deciding not to ask what it was.

"Two things. Both of which directly concern Link. The first, I wish to know your impressions of him and his capabilities. Two, and he may have mentioned this, what is the status of your ship?"
