Even so, Tybalt, there must be something that we could do to help. I can't stay idle and see others suffering. My apathy only lasted so much in Neo Verona before Juliet appeared and will not happen here.

Any number of reasons. Some of them do believe they're doing what's right and just, others simply do such things because they gain some twisted enjoyment from it or because they don't care about other people. Some also hold hatred for entire races of people or those with different beliefs than them. There are countless reasons for their violence, none of which are satisfactory, in my eyes.
