I went to visit my Dad last weekend, and discovered that he really does pay attention to the things I say I like. :D Hooray Medieval cooking it is fascinating and so often very very delicious.

I don't know which books are on your list, but The Medieval Kitchen: Recipes from France and Italy is a great place to start, since the recipes have been redacted into modern formats.

Yes, I have that one on my radar as well. I have made some assumptions in my post (foremost that the Forme of Cury is a dominant text -- I really don't know enough yet to know if that is the case), but I am really, really excited to play with food like this.

So like, you have to tell me when you're coming to town so I can try some concoctions on you, who have been involved in this world for a while and have a reference point. :)
