This always happens. My period and a cold constantly line up, be it spring, fall, or winter. So, I'm miserable. I don't want to eat anything (since colds block your nose and 75% of what you think is taste is actually smell so everything tastes funny since I can't smell it) but I crave chocolate. For years I used to always get colds and my period at the same time, so I started eating more iron or taking iron tablets because I thought maybe it was linked to being slightly anaemic, and when I was losing blood my body couldn't cope so got sick. I don't know if it worked, or whether it was just coincidence, but I don't seem to get as many colds when I'm on my periods now.
