Back to School Madness (and Anger)

The CATbus system is something Clemson University seems to be very proud of. They added a new route this semester: The Tiger Route. I have to admit, it sounds a bit better than the Blue Route that I used all last year to get from the Commuter Lot (P1/Kite Hill) to the East side of campus ( Read more... )

Yeah, well this summer they did decide to remove several routes to save money and all. Apparently they're attempting to glorify what they have left as something incredible?

It could be worse: When I was at Carolina they had a grand total of 6 routes for the entire campus. Carolina is huge and needed more than 6 buses. A lot more. You'd have to wait upwards of 20 minutes for a bus to come along its route, so most times it was just beneficial to walk wherever. Oh, and the bus was slower than time. And there was no air conditioning. At least there's one every 8 minutes for you.

I'm sure they've added more routes 5 years later, but still. In my last year I didn't need to leave the J-school too much so I didn't need the buses, and if I did, conveniently one came by the Coliseum (where the J-school is).

So...my thoughts....walking to your car takes 20 minutes. Riding the bus takes 18 minutes. Don't for get to think about the fact that 1) You're not tired from walking and 2) you're out of the weather (whether that be extreme heat or the monsoons as of late)

Plus if you're REALLY dedicated you could ready or study something for class....or just sit and stare and think about random things...either way it's cool.

That is all.
