Our monitor flashes off and on every few minutes, sometimes every few seconds. As the computer freezes just before this happens, I've trained myself to look away or shut my eyes in advance. In addition to this, the computer freezes and resets itself a few times every hour. This makes using Windows Live Messenger, in particular, a beeeeyotch ( Read more... )

I got my problem solved!!! AHAHAHAHAH!!!!! It turned out to be a hardware problem. I simply pulled out the graphics card.. and plugged it back in.. this metal thing was stopping me from putting it entirely in.

Ooh, nice job! Too bad the back of our computer is bolted shut, so we can't tinker with it. We'll probably hafta get someone to unbolt it, pull it out, plug it back in and charge us $500 for doing so. :(

Oh computer woes! How the lucky take their perfectly running machines for granted! The slightest glitch (or the biggest "dango-s" - like yours) just throw life out of sync.

Couldn't you possibly put the DVD into a DVD player?
