The following is my thoughts on The Following:

The Following is basically two shows, one of which is SUPER AWESOME AMAZING, and the other of which is kinda meh. So first I’ll focus on ‘The Following: Murderous Threesome’ and then I’ll complain about ‘The Following: Kevin Bacon, Generic Cop With Secret Pain’.

(Spoilers up to #1.04, Mad Love.)

The Following: Murderous Threesome )

It would have been awesome if the story was told from the Serial Killers point of view and the cop story was the tiny side story *G*

I know, right? You would've thought the success of Dexter would have taught TV execs something...

I’m sure there are people out there who “just aren’t into” a storyline about hot serial killers in a triad relationship

Those are not people that I wish to associate with. Also, can I just say: I HAD NO IDEA THAT RAZOR WAS GOING TO BE IN THIS SHOW WHEN I STARTED WATCHING IT. I am pretty sure I yelped when he showed up on screen. I seriously knew nothing about the premise or characters in advance so I am plesently delighted by much of it. I am sadly disappointed every time Kevin Bacon is on the screen. Which makes me so sad because I weirdly love him irl? But ugh, I find myself just waiting for his scenes to end most of the time.

I also totally agree with your comments on the chances of the writers addressing mental health issues. Sigh.

Heh. I spent the first episode thinking, Razor's gonna die, right? There's no way Razor has a lead role in a major network show! But then he surviiiiived. :D

I think you will not be surprised that I also am following The Following and have basically the same thoughts as you.

When Nico first appeared I thought, hey, it's that guy from MIOBI that Nicola likes! Heh. I too am really impressed with the actress playing Emma.

It pleases me to be associated with super-lame fannish things! \o/

P.S. I sent you a 'hi! how are you?' email a couple of weeks ago and it bounced back (I guess because I don't have a current email address for you), so... hi! how are you? :D
