For the record, this story made perfect beddy-bye reading last night. (I can't even lie: I bought a Kindle so that I can read long-ish fanfic without giving myself eyestrain. :x)

been at this far too long by Lake (The Social Network, Eduardo/Mark)

All I want from TSN fandom is emoporn/lengthy fix-it fic.

Ugh, tell me about it. In bandom, as much as I loved it, there were just too many epic fics for me to keep up with, and all I wanted was short- and medium-length stories. But in TSN, all I want are loooooooong happy-making tales.

(And yet, the story that I'm pretending not to write is kind of cruel and bleak and not something that I'd imagine wanting to read, except it won't get out of my head. So. /o\)

Oh, I know. Bandom had such an extreme number of big bangs, but all I wanted to read were... say, short, porny stories about Ryland and VickyT having sex backstage before a Cobra show.

With TSN, I read the short, porny stories and think, "...needed 10,000 more words tension-filled silences and heart-rending glances". /o\

the story that I'm pretending not to write is kind of cruel and bleak

I'll read it. (Mark/Eduardo is, in truth, a quintessentially cruel and bleak pairing. So your characterization is solid.)

It is, and as much as I want all the fix-it fic in the world, this story will not be that. Eduardo's a bit nastier than fandom usually plays him, because I'm kind of fascinated by the way they both screw each other over. At the moment, though, all I've got are a couple of key moments and ideas, and I've got both characters buzzing in my brain but I can't figure out whose point of view to chose. I need to blather about it to someone, but none of my betas are in TSN fandom yet.

But in the meantime, this kept me occupied for a couple of days. Angst omnomnom.
