I keep writing up posts and then not actually... posting them. This is one of those:
Dollhouse #1.02:
Well, that was scary. :/ And not in a fun way; more in a mediocre-horror-movie way. Wahhhhhrgh. If this show's gonna be a succession of nightmare scenarios, I don't think I'm into it.
Remember my D: reaction to the refrigerator last week? I had the same D: reaction when that dude said he wanted to put Echo in the
attic. Not clever, just lame. Am I really too sophisticated for this show? Or is this show just dumbed-down to an extreme?
The FBI guy hunting down the Dollhouse is so endlessly boring. Isn't it TV writing 101 that a major character should not be 20 steps behind your audience? This is the reason that everyone* hated Will's storyline in season 1 of Alias. He was chasing after the truth about an organization that we, the audience, learned all about in the Pilot episode.
*Except me, obviously. I always loved Will's snark and his heart. He was an essential component of Syd's "real" life away from SD-6. The journalist-seeking-the-truth storyline was fucking annoying, though. So my point stands.
Mostly, I can't help feeling that I don't really want to watch two dystopian sci-fi shows about women kicking ass. And, the fact is, T:SCC is infinitely superior. I suspect only one show will make it out of the Friday night death slot alive - and though it really should be T:SCC that survives, I suspect it will be Dollhouse instead. Sigh. :(
T:SCC #2.15:
Much as I love this show, I feel like it's been in a holding pattern too long. I don't care who, but SOMEONE needs to have sex soon. :|
Also, it was way too depressing to set an entire episode at the longest funeral everrrrr.
The episode did bring a hilarious (to me) reunion of comedy s1 Gilmore Girls actors, though. Rune! Brad! :D
Um. Here, have one of my favourite xkcd comics:
Randomly: Monday's Daily Show was more homoerotic than it's been in a while. Whoa.
Homoerotic about The Great Gatsby,
homoerotic while mocking Republicans,
(always) homoerotic with John Oliver.
Is it Friday afternoon yet? No? ...Fuck.
