I know I haven't posted in a while. I'm at a new job, living in Connecticut and in general doing a lot of driving. Home to NJ on the weekends. Up to MA every now and then to visit folks in NoHo. Not to mention driving up to Montreal for a variety of funerals while my relatives seem to drop like flies. My grandmother passed away the day after

About your father, it's been shown in several studies that people with pets (even non-professional pets) live longer than single people alone. Plus, it bodes well that he's taking such good care of himself. Some of my older relatives have sort of thrown in the towel, with predictable results. Living takes work, and it sounds like he's doing it.
