Hmmm. Don't know about that. But when they released HBP in the US, they also did the whole line up in front of the stores and wait until midnight of the release day thing... So I was expecting they'd do the same this year too.
Hehe, I reserved my copy of the Deathly Hallows in March or so. I think I read that they wanted to actually open some of the bigger bookstores in Munich at midnight for this occassion (they always do it for the German edition - most shops here close at 8 p.m., only at the airport and the main stations they are allowed to open longer) but I don't feel like running around in town with hundreds of eight-graders at midnight (after all I have to get home somehow and the trains will only run until 12 *sigh*). So, yeah, I'll probably get it around 9 a.m. Saturday morning (haha, way earlier than the Americans ^o^).
I congratulate you on getting an autographed copy of the Darkover books. The earlier are better anyway (yes, I still don't really like her but that doesn't mean she wasn't a genius). I think they're worth more than all the Harry Potter books together ^^;; But, yeah, that comes from the girl who really had to go and get a look at the neigbourhood MZB was living in at Berkeley when she was in the Bay area about 10 years ago...

That's crazy! I wouldn't be able to wait 7 hours after everyone before I'm allowed by the bookstore people to get my book!
