Awww. ;( My mom's cat turned diabetic too. Not from diet, actually, but from the steroid shots they gave him to combat his asthma. (The vet did not inform us up front that it was a possible side effect. Which is why my cat does not get steroid shots, just in case.)

You're not a bad mommy. :) *hugs*

you're not a bad mommy. As an human, you can't get diabetes from eating too much sugar unless you are already predisposed to get diabetes. If you don't have the gene for it, no matter how much sugar carbs you eat you won't get it. I have to assume this goes for dogs too! So! YOU'RE NOT A BAD MOMMY!!!
I'm so disappointed you won't be at Big Bear this weekend!! We would've had so much fun!

My doctor tells me otherwise. :\ I've told him that there's no history of diabetes in my family but because I'm overweight, he keeps testing my blood and being concerned that I will spontaneously combust develop diabetes.

As if I don't have enough other weird crap in my family gene pool to worry about!

Yeah, I remembered about the water dish after we got home. He has others. Dan should drink the beer, we'll bring more next time. :)

Tim went to Big Bear without me, but I'm free! I just have to make sure Charlie is fed at a regular time (and gets his shot!), but that can be arranged.
