TVD fic: Try the Brittle [Alaric/Damon, 1/1]

This is wildly AU as of the season premiere, mostly because I didn’t finish it ‘til yesterday. I’d like to think it still holds up.

In which Damon needs to get out of town, and Alaric really needs to stop letting strange vampires into his apartment. [6,556 words]

Yey!! Love that you wrote Damon/Alaric, but really? Really? You can't leave it there. You do need to give us our finale with the two finally getting together (where getting together means you give us whatever amount of detail you're comfortable giving). Alaric is all thinky about Damon now, and Damon stil hasn't gotten what he wanted (though he's a lot closer), and these are important things to delve into.

So in short - Really enjoyed it, lots of great laughing moments, love to see more.

I love that his brain goes to the shirt. And just the general fumbling of this sentence.

Why was this not the season premiere? This is perfect. You've absolutely NAILED both of their voices, and it had a terrific sense of humor that did not in any way undercut the gravity of the Catherine situation or the Damon/Alaric relationship.

”And I have to remind you that you’re, at least in part, considering sleeping with the guy who had sex with your wife and made her a vampire, your reasoning is a tiny bit suspect,” Damon shot back. “Also, no you haven’t.”

Pffft. Love this.

They just snark and banter but it's so friggin' sexy. The voices, especially Damon's was inspired.
